Yesterday, I was laid off. To most, this is a dreaded day; for me, its a little bit scary for the money and a LOT scary for being Day 1 of this project. Time to get serious and move on. Today's tasks: File unemployment (Hello there Marvin!), Volunteer at Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit, and figure out this blog.

A new beginning. With the Detroit area standing at an average 15% unemployment rate, many of my fellow Detroiters are thinking about that. How to create a new beginning? How to reinvent, remake, realize who we want to be while keeping food on the table, our kids in schools and the car running with $2.98 gasoline.
